Why I’m going to Texas

This time tomorrow I will be on a plane heading from the calmer waters of sunny pro-choice California to ground zero for the abortion fight — Texas.

I’m heading there to participate in the Women’s Convention, a three-day convening of movers and shakers who are, “coming together to grieve and rage, find joy and comfort in community, and strategize for the fight for a feminist future.”

We’re bringing the California contingent, and will meet with women from all over the country who are leading the charge to enshrine abortion rights and right-size the long list of other parts of women’s lives that remain inequitable.
